Effect of the deposit bonus at Party

I just went to Party for the first time in a long time to take advantage of the deposit bonus. I generally hate the site so I've been elsewhere.

Anyway, I read in an older thread that the play tightens up considerably during a bonus period. Is this true? It seems counter-intuitive.

I have been suprised to find the .50/1.00 games to be a lot less fishy than I was expecting. There are, of course, some TERRIBLE players, but I am finding more players with a VP$IP of less than 25 than there are at UB.

Is this, in fact, a symptom of the bonus period, or am I on crack?

Many players who normally don't play the lowest level ring games will drop down a couple of levels, or move over from SnGs (which don't clear Party bonuses) to quickly clear the bonus playing 4 tables at once.

I have been playing SnGs lately, but reloaded at Party yesterday and started playing 3-4 tables of .5/1 O/8. I waited until after the weekend to reload, because I figured that most of the 4-tablers deposited on Friday and cleared their bonuses by Sunday.

Also, many players probably don't want to risk going busted before they clear their bonus.

it seems a lot of 2+2 types play during the reload period at lower levels just trying to make a profit from clearing.

I actually do better at the tighter tables for some reason.

I tend to run better while a reload is going on. One
factor is people who don't normally play O/8 but are
doing it for the bonus.

Overall I think the game is more passive during bonus,
which suits me fine.

I noticed the effect most strongly at holdem, but it seem to be happing at the O8b tables this time too.

Last session, there were "'Tsup Bro!" conversations at two of my three tables.

I actually ended up this time from playing, made more at that tables than I did from the bonus.

Tables were a little tighter, but still terrible.

I erased about half of my losses over the last 1300 hands in one 200+ had session!

First time my party results looked anything like my results on the other sites.

I find other sites have much better O8 games than party.

Which sites and at which levels? I have only found games at Party, Stars, Absolute, and UB. Of those party has by far the most tables and therefore the best game selection. Is there a site that I don't know about?
