Default Party 33 - QQ on first hand

This is the first hand, so I have no reads or notes on the villain. Do I give the villain credit for a better hand here, because he called my continuation bet and made a suspicious bet on the turn?

Folding here would wrap up a nicely played hand. Though, I think your c-b was a bit much IMO, with an EP+MP PF caller.

- consider why we checked the turn: he called the substantial c-b on the flop...perhaps with a "K". On this non-draw friendly board, a reasonable assumption.

'Suspicious' lead or not, by correctly giving up the lead - we are no longer in a position to proceed. Not unless you can conclude from this lead that villian is holding a non-set'd PP (that doesn't include AA).

A monster hand's value bet? A loose player, trying to ensure a cheap showdown with KQ-? I don't think you can afford to find out.

too large of a bet on the flop. I wouldn't check the turn if you had made a smaller bet on the flop. Villain with JJ most likely plays this hand the same way. If i'm in villains position and you continuation bet the size of the pot at the flop, I am suspicious that you are trying to protect your hand or that you missed, so I call, then you check the turn, well I'm definitely betting, because now my I believe my JJ is good.

This isn't to say that the opponent couldnt have pocket A's, K's, AK, or possibly KQs but this hand could have been played better at the flop.

The pot's 340, and Hero bet 250. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion.

The problem here is that this isn't necessarily a value bet. It's more of a bet to pick up the pot. 250 is over 1/3rd of your stack. 175 should be more than enough to pick it up if he doesn't have a king, and no amount is going to get him to fold a king.

You know that, but your opponents don't.

Whether you prefer 1/2 or 2/3 pot CBs doesn't matter, it's just important to keep it consistent. No need to criticize OP if he prefers 2/3.
