Default How to deal with a liar?

Someone (you thought to be) near and dear to you has lied to you about (close to) the worst possible thing, how do you react?

Disassociation?
Revenge?
Be a doormat?

Gonna have to agree with this one. Also, I have no problem with a little balls kicking if they do something else.

if it's "the worst possible thing," i disassociate...at least for the time being and probable things would be different from then on. trust is a powerful thing and once its broken it is almost never restored.

it also depends on what he did too, everybody's "worst possible thing" could be different.

True.

What is the worst possible thing? That you're adopted? That your girlfriend wasn't pregnant, never got that abortion, and bought a pair of shoes with the money you gave her? That your best friend killed your dog and [censored] your wife? That your acquaintance who you gave a grand to, who runs a charity for sick children doesn't?

Generally, just move on. Some things you can forgive. Nothing deserves revenge, it's just wasted energy. But some people need to be ratted out so more people don't get hurt in the future.

Walk away and never look back. It's up to them to make it up to you, if they never do, fine.

I guess that's disassociation.
