It sounds like he would make this move with more draws than pairs, so why wouldn't you raise the turn and take a free showdown?

EDIT:

If he's a good player, I might not want to take this line. Hmm, He might fold some very weak pairs and weak draws. And on the other hand, he might not bet all 3 streets for us. I'm not sure about this, I'll think about it some more.

I would rather 3-bet and fold somewhere later on or raise the turn than just check/call down.
