How do you get away from KK/AA?

1/2 NL online, KdKh in SB, $600 in front of me.

Standard raise to 10.

2 callers: BB ($250) and MP ($100).

Flop Jd 7d 2c.

I check, fairly confident that SB (fairly solid aggressive player but I've seen him make many bad plays over the last few months) will bet, or if not MP might bet. This is a trapping tactic I occasionally use.

Pot $40. SB bets $16. MP folds. I raise $40. He reraises $80.

This is where I should have got away, but there are so many bad players online that in similar situations I have often cleaned someone out - they can have a range of hands like KJ, QJ, AJ, 10 10, flush draw etc, that they can put all their money on.

Anyway I set him in, pretty sure I'm behind, and he had JJJ.

I've been in these situations a few times where on an innocuous flop I have been unable to lay down my KK or AA when the opponent was showing strength. So I've ended up paying off trips. On more dangerous flops I know how to play KK/AA fast but cautiously, knowing someone may well have two pair or a straight etc. I have folded them on many occasions. But if it's a totally innocent flop I just can't seem to put them down.

Anyone experienced the same problem? I guess it partly comes down to knowing the player.

Yes I think it does come down to knowing the player.
1 thing I found even though you said he's an aggressive player, does his REraise mean something?, because I know a lot of aggressive players who will bet or raise, but a reraise from them like in this situation can mean something.
But yes,knowing the player is key I think.

I'm not sure why you didnt reraise before the flop. I think smooth calling in these spots is going to cost you money. After he reraises on the flop, I think you have to let it go. Kings are great but you only have one pair.

exactly. unfortunately, online you have to pay attention or you'll miss clues that will point you in the right direction. in this case, getting reraised on a check raise is a huge power play, so against a player with half a brain i will strongly consider laying it down.
