Re: Bad play or cold decked?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Why don't you raise the turn? If the next player is really "crazy" he'll probably be calling your raise. I don't see going for overcalls here as you only have one more player and you can't be worried about much. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not at all worried about the crazy behind me. I'm worried about the rock 3betting me. Live games are notoriously passive. If some guy, especially a tight guy, is 3betting me, I'm not convinced he's doing it with KJ enough to make raising +EV. Since 72 isn't in his range of hands, I don't think that the turn J changed anything. Either we're still way ahead of KJ, or we're way behind 77 or 22 (outside chance at J7). Hmmm. I just reread the read. Sees a lot of flops, but is tight? I guess I'll need clarification about this. Also, was the tight guy in the BB? This is important since you limped preflop. [/ QUOTE ] the guy wasnt a rock , he would see a lot of flops but would only wake up and bet with a big hand, so that is what worried me. |

Re: Bad play or cold decked?
[ QUOTE ]
Bad play or cold decked? [/ QUOTE ] I'm having such a hard time figuring this out. Who's cold-decked here? Cause the hero I'm seeing went runner-runner for the win out of a flaming hot deck... As for the hand, I'd raise preflop, but everything else looks OK. |

Re: Bad play or cold decked?
I think we just picked up a glaring tell on the crazy guy. Anytime he just calls on the flop is our signal to abandon our cards and grab a cold one from the bar.

Re: Bad play or cold decked?
cold deck is referring to a set up deck where a lot of players have good hands. And there was no folding a set of jacks with no over cards and the best kicker. I think on the same night I had a hand like this.
AQ suited of diamonds.....flop comes A 10 8 with one diamond mama (old chinese lady) bets i raise, she 3 bets i call turn is a J of diamonds, I bet she raises I call turn is a diamond, I bet she calls She had a set of 8's that didnt hold up to my nut flush |

"cold deck" usually means you haven't gotten good cards, as in "I played at the casino for 4 hours but was so cold-decked I only played 5 hands". [/ QUOTE ] Actually, both usages of cold deck are correct. LINK |
