Default Out Of Position with a go broke hand

Hypothetical Situation. Lets say you are midway through a tourney and a typical player with an average stack about the same as you raises in a non-steal position. Everyone folds to you in the big blind and you hold a hand like AJ or KQ. How to you proceed with these types of hands if you hit your card on the flop. For Example if you have AJ and the flop comes A 4 6 rainbow. The is a very easy situation to lose a lot of chips to an AK or AQ. How do you proceed in this situation.

Many times I would just fold Preflop. I hate playing unpaired high cards out of position especially trap hands like KQ or AJ. If I knew the player was a rock, I'd let go of AQ also.

Depending on my stack size and his I would usually fold or make him all in. I am trying to never cold call with those hands.
