Live 1-2, turned a danger-set
Live $1-$2, 10-handed
UTG is a rich LAG with a bottomless bankroll, loves to gamble, and is the main reason I frequent this game. He also staddles often, and tonight he's straddled every round. He tends to push with monsters if getting action, regardless of the size of the pot or the size of his stack. He is capable of being tricky with good hands, but I really haven't seen that many FPS bluffs coming out of him. UTG (~$250) Hero (~$400) Hero is MP3 with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Preflop: UTG straddles to $10, folds, Hero raises to $25, folds, UTG calls (very typical) Flop: ($53) T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG checks, Hero bets $50, UTG calls The check-call pattern is very often a draw on his part. He may have a middle PP also. Turn: ($153) Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG checks, Hero checks River: ($153) Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG bets $25, Hero goes all-in, UTG folds |

Re: Live 1-2, turned a danger-set
I like a bet on the turn. You still have redraws if he raises. Your push screams full house, I think a pot sized raise might get you some action.
On the river, depending on reads, this is one of the few instances where I may (I said MAY) consider a donk raise to induce a push. You have the baord crushed so only a anotehr monster will want to do battle here. edited last paragraph to indicate river action. |

PSB turn and call a push.
He might have a single diamond that will call a bet on the turn but release on the river. |

I like everystreet except preflop but then I'm of the "I don't like potting turns to charge 1 card diamond draws" school.
typically I raise a bit more preflop like $40. |

[ QUOTE ]
PSB turn and call a push. He might have a single diamond that will call a bet on the turn but release on the river. [/ QUOTE ] It's true that he may have a single diamond. However, the most likely hand I get played with is a made flush, and at this point he'll fold middle pair. I guess the other bonus is that he'll probably fold a straight draw. EDIT: He has a very characteristic way of pushing all-in with a monster, so I draw for free if he has a made flush and don't have to call a river bet if he pushes there. |
