I never said Simpsons wasn't. Just Curb. I may be wrong on that, but to me, I don't think of it as fitting into the model of what a situational comedy is. The lack of live audience or laugh track is just a small part of that. I'm looking some stuff up to see if I can find any support, but I may just be wrong.

Someone else said that Simpsons wasn't. I guess I don't know the official definition of sitcoms. As far as laugh tracks, I think most/all shows would be better without them. I think of Sports Night. Loved the show. Then it got cancelled and later on Comedy Central picked it up and aired the reruns, but added in a laugh track. It was unwatchable. I don't need to be told when to laugh.

Write-in vote for "Too Close For Comfort".

That Monroe guy was hysterical.

It can't be mentioned enough: Arrested Development. The cast is amazing. The writing is great. I could go on for days.

im a fan of seinfeld and voted for it.

i want to give an honorable mention to "the dick van dyke show" and im serious. it is dated but i think the writing style is very similiar between that show and seinfeld. it's about relationships and awkward situations that arise from misunderstandings.

if you see it on late at night give it a try some time.

oh yeah and mary tyler moore is HOT in those episodes. she's 21 years old during those tapings.

Except for the Seinfeld fan part, I agree. The Dick van Dyke show is still funny today. Morey Amsterdam's a riot on that show. And MTM is awesome in the tight pants.

The Honeymooners is another great sitcom not getting any love. It's the precursor to all the fat-guy-married-to-a-mint-wife shows. Jim Belushi, Kevin James and Ray Romano say thank you.
