Chinese people just stick these little spoons in their ears to dig wax out. These are way smaller than Q-tips also, and always wondered how people could use a q-tip to dig out wax.

I'm sure many Chinese ear drums have been punctured.

All,

My wife is a speech pathologist. In I believe an anatomy class she took they went over the Q-Tip thing. The problem is that your ear is designed to push wax out. However, the part of the ear canal that does this doesn't extend all the way to the drum, it stops at some point. If you use the Q-Tip, your pinkie, a little spoon, a pen, whatever, you can push the wax beyond this point and it will just sit there. Over time this builds up and can affect your hearing and even damage your ear I think.

Informationally yours,

Jared

Use a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. It will loosen/disolve the wax.
