Default LA\'s Commerce Casino Hotel

Has anyone stayed in the Hotel attached to the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. I'm going to be in town next month and was considering staying at the Hotel. I know the poker is top notch but where would you rate the hotel rooms?

Thanks

Haven't seen them, but everyone who has tells me they're standard Crowne Plaza rooms. I think the consensus is a B-minus. Nobody's ever told me they were terrible. $99 poker rate. You're right off the 5 freeway, so if you have business other than poker while in L.A., you're close to all major freeways.

They re-did the bathrooms and upgraded the beds (feather mattress, nicer sheets) semi-recently, it's pretty nice to be able to go grab a shower and stay in a game as well.

The hotel rooms are just ok. At the same style of a basic holiday inn. Though thats not the purpose. Being able to walk downstairs and play poker at any point of the day is the advantage. Don't expect much from your room though. Its not horrid, its just average.

Also, if you're really concerned about staying somewhere "nice" then stay in downtown LA - It's only 10 minutes from Commerce w/out traffic.

If you're youngish, definitely stay at the downtown Standard, if you're not youngish there is a Hilton that is probably the nicest downtown hotel.

"It's only 10 minutes from Commerce w/out traffic".

We're talking Los Angeles. There is no "w/out traffic" except at 2:45 am

The hotel might just be OK but the surrounding area is a freakin dump. Stay downtown or further south in Orange County. The commerce is not going anywhere, no point in staying at that hotel...seriously.

I stayed one night at the Omni this past weekend, and I liked it a lot. The rooms are nice and it's not far from Commerce. If you want to play poker and only play poker, then the Commerce is great. If you have other plans, downtown is close enough to the casino to meet most needs. The rooms are fine at the Commerce.

The Standard downtown is fun, as someone else posted. Very quirky, but kind of fun. Be warned, if taking a dump in a fishtank would bother you, don't stay there. It depends on your needs and wants.
