Re: KK vs. possible rock
I don't know how you can not bet this. His most likely range of hands is QQ-JJ. There's an outside chance that he's got A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K or A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q and pushed a little too hard with his draw on the flop (and will fold to your bet), but that's no reason to check behind. He just might have AA, but that's 1/2 as likely as QQ-JJ.

What did he show? [/ QUOTE ] you're assuming it went to showdown here's what happened (in white): river action: he checked, I bet, he called showdown: he flips Kc9c after this hand I got about 30 more hands on him and his stats are now: 12/3/1.6, so probably not a rock. still I was interested in knowing what was appropriate given my read. |

I've often wondered about this strategy, since I have to fold so many overcards to turn/river bets when I have to finally back off. KO |

Re: KK vs. possible rock
Raising a three bet on a monoflush board? I don't get that unless you were trying to buy a free card on the turn. Looks to me like this rock called a preflop raise from the SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], AA or 99. When he doesn't bet or checkraise the turn, it looks like AA or 99 - still no good for you.

Re: KK vs. possible rock
** grunch **
Against a known rock I check the river through especially if you have evidence he plays well pre-flop. I'm guessing non-nut flush but 99 seems reasonable as well, possibly some of the other holdings but if there is a good chance the guy is a rock you're done so check. |

Re: KK vs. possible rock
hey eviljeff - this hand is an example of why we shouldn't think a 60 hand read is completely trustworthy. even if he is a rock, you many beat hands...and more likely he is not a rock, just getting cold cards. |
