Hold'em for Advanced Players, SH section, good for starters?

I just started reading Sklansky's 21st edition of Hold'em for Advanced Players and wondered what you SH players thought of his SH chapter? Seems QUITE a bit different from what I've read on many forums but seems to make a lot of sense. I was considering trying out SH at Poker Room while I worked off a promotional deal. But this would be my first foray in to SH play and wonder if maybe this isn't a bit to advanced for a newbie. Or is it a fine starting point?
