Default This is a test.

Here is a hand I played and posted about a long time ago.

Obviously a good table. None of the opponents stood out. Mostly a mixture of different degrees of loose/passive.

Party Poker (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO Raises , Button calls, SB folds, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (16.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, CO bets , Button folds, Hero calls, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (11.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, CO bets , Hero raises , UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls.

River: (19.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets , MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls.

Final Pot: 22.25 BB
Main Pot: 22.25 BB, between MP2, CO and Hero.

Anything I could have done differently/better?

What do you guys think?

Bet the turn. Not very many draws left, and those that are left are priced to call no matter what you do. Don't risk it getting checked around.

My candy ass agrees with shadow. For the same reasons plus the pfr may not continuation bet again for you.

I'm assuming the check-raise was for value - good idea, but risky without a read on CO (maybe you were hoping someone else snagged a pair or two?). If I'm new to the table I bet the turn.

I would consider betting the turn. Actually I wouldn't consider betting it, I would just bet it. Checking it is really bad imho.

Wild, eh?

Interestingly enough, the turn really wasn't where all the discussion was the first time around. (Although that doesn't mean I didn't misplay it.)

Well, the decision the first time around would be whether or not you should checkraise the flop. Yeah, it increases your odds of winning, but you're still offering 9.75:1 on a call to any lovely soul on that board who caught a piece, and you're still gonna be out of position for the rest of the hand, and we do still have to consider that CO bet into a field of 7 remaining players, so the odds of you having the best hand and folding hands that can hurt your chances of winning are kinda diminished. I think check-calling is the way to go, but I'm betting the turn.

I agree completely about betting the turn.

I also thought the flop was an easy call, but some others thought check-raising was better.

I thought this was a good "playing in a big pot" type of hand, and I was surprised when I heard check-raising the flop was the best way to go.

I also thought maybe some of the guys who weren't here back then might have their eyes opened a little by it.

Here's the link. link

(There's a few Ed Miller posts in there, pre SSHE.)
