There is less women than men because women are less inclined to take risk.( In general) It is naturally like that.

actually, i think more women would play if they were invited to. i host poker tournaments every other month or so, and i can generally get 4 or 5 women to come (mostly men though) also, if you're friends with a female poker player, chances are they have friends that play to. Once i learned how to play, if you didn't play, you didn't understand what i was talking about.

I only know one.....and thats my mum......only cos me and my bro play all the time.....she has seen us making consistent money...
She's still learning though....... I would hazard a guess that 5-10% tops are women !!

Or rather, they are too concrete in their thinking. "God, I am putting an entire college education at an Ivy League college in the pot and I don't have the nuts..." The women I know don't seem to be risk averse though. More the other way around!

I was doing a research paper on the subject of internet poker, and came across a London Times article:
