Default Can I get away from this hand ?

I have no real read on our villain, he's played pretty tight through his pokertracker stats. I know I could have raised once more on that flop, but I actually knew his holding the second he raised (just felt like the only thing he'd raise on), and even typed it in the window. Looking back I'm a moron to have stayed in for the flush draw since the 4 flush paired the board. I guess I was just *really* hoping he had JJ. Can you let this one go early ?

I don't see an obvious fold anywhere.

You actually lost less than I would, as I would have 3 bet the flop and called down if capped.

I just had all his holdings down to set holdings, I can't explain why. I have him no credit for a flush draw or TT

If you're not losing more money on this hand, then you miss a ton of value bets.

Would that apply to the case where you know you're beat ?

The flop action doesn't tell you you're beat. That's where you should have lost more.

I know you're never supposed to play with instinct, but after this guy has watched me 3 bet big pockets a few times, I know he's only coming back at me with the biggest hand. I guess I had a better read on him then I explained in here, although i've only played him once.

Even with the best reads, I'm going to have an awfully hard time folding that hand at any time. I don't care what your gut says, no read is good enough to know he has a set. I'm not saying that your play isn't smart in this one instance, which results say it is. What I'm saying is next time you have a gut feeling, you're going to miss a ton of value on the flop. Gut feelings like this are how you get into bad habits like missing value bets, check through paired boards when you've got an overpair, etc.

Well the sad part is that I was sure, and still called just to prove I lost. That always blows.
