Default Announcing the RGP Open (MTT Series)

Hello 2+2!

I am cross-posting this to your general hold'em forum... hope nobody objects.

I wish to announce and invite you all to participate in the RGP Open. It is a series of tournaments that will be run on GamesGrid (www.gamesgrid.com) I have modelled the series after the WSOP, and it is being run on this small site because they are being *very* accomodating with regards to letting me tweak the starting chips, duration of levels, blind structures, etc.

What I am offering, different from any other tournament online, is the ability to play deeper stack, and longer level poker for a relatively small buy-in amount.

For the structure itself, Satellites will start with 1500 chips, 15 minute levels, and addons for 2000 chips (when rebuys and addons are permitted).

For the events with a $20 or $30 buyin, You will start with 2000 in chips, with 20 minute levels, and 2500 chips addons.

For the $50 and $100 events, you will start with 3000 chips and 30 minute levels.

The Main Event is the really exciting part: You will start with 10,000 in chips, and the blinds structure will mimic the WSOP Main Event, with 40 minute levels, and a 5 minute break after each level.

Each event will be run over 2 Days. The preliminary events will run for 4 hours, then the tournament will pause until the start of the next event, at which point the tournament will resume (thus, Day Two of the Event #1 will be at the same time as Event #2 starts), just like they did at the WSOP this year. This should allow many more people to play, as I expect each tournament (due to the longer structure) to last between 4-8 hours. (The Main Event should last 16 to 20 hours).

Here is the tentative schedule for the RGP Open:

Sept 17, 15:00 Eastern: $30 No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em
Sept 20, 21:00 Eastern: $30 Limit Texas Hold 'Em
Sept 22, 21:00 Eastern: $30 Limit Omaha High-Low, Eight or Better
Sept 24, 15:00 Eastern: $20+Rebuys No-Limit Texas Holdem
Sept 27, 18:00 Eastern: $20 Limit Seven Card Stud High-Low, Eight or Better
Sept 29, 21:00 Eastern: $20 Razz
Oct 1, 15:00 Eastern: $30 6 Handed No-Limit Texas Holdem
Oct 6, 21:00 Eastern: $50 No-Limit Texas Holdem
Oct 8, 15:00 Eastern: $20+Rebuys Pot Limit Omaha
Oct 11, 21:00 Eastern: $50 Heads-Up No-Limit Texas Holdem Matches

Oct 20, 21:00 Eastern: $20+Rebuys Kansas City Lowball
Oct 22, 15:00 Eastern: $100 Pot-Limit Omaha
Oct 25, 21:00 Eastern: $20 Limit Deuce to Seven Triple Draw Lowball
Oct 27, 21:00 Eastern: $100 Pot Limit Omaha High-Low, Eight or Better
Oct 29, 15:00 Eastern: $100 No-Limit Texas Holdem
Nov 1, 21:00 Eastern: $100 HORSE
Nov 3, 21:00 Eastern: $30+R Supersatellite to the Main Event
Nov 5, 14:00 Eastern: $500 No Limit Texas Holdem Main Event, Day One
Nov 6, 16:00 Eastern: $500 No Limit Texas Holdem Main Event, Day Two

In other happenings: We will have a fully functional satellite system to
the main event, with "Second Chance" satellites running shortly 1 hour after each event. I am also in discussions with the designers to run Sit&Go STT satellites to the earlier events, which would be 11% of the buy-in to the event, and be winner take all.

To sign up at Games Grid, and get a feel for the software, please visit their site (www.gamesgrid.com). I would, of course, appreciate it if you mentionned in the signup form that you were referred by FellKnight.

Ok. That was long. Any questions?

Thanks for reading.
