Should I be in this hand? Should I have reraised Pre-flop? Did I play it ok post flop? I think I tend to overdefend blinds as a whole, and I am trying to cut down, as I have been having some trouble with $3-6 level.

Thanks

You should almost always 3-bet if you want to defend your Small Blind. By calling you're letting BB in for great odds and you let the Button stealer keep his aggression. Whether you want to defned the SB with A8o depends on what the Button will raise with.

1. Fold preflop
2. Fold the flop
3. Turn is fine
4. River is fine
5. Don't play on full tilt poker. Its the worst site ever. They also have the worst bonus, so bonuswhoring is not an excuse.

Full tilt poker is a rock garden even at 1/2. A8 is death in this spot against most FTPers. But I agree that if he isn't going to fold preflop, that a raise is the better option.

If you are going to defend against an sb steal (this goes for almost every situation) you should 3 bet. 3 betting from the sb accomplishes (at least) two things:
1) Represents strength which will often allow you to win without sd.
2) Forces the bb to call 2 more bets which takes away his odds to call with marginal hands.

Full tilt is that bad? I made a lot of money on there when I cleared the $600 bonus at 2/4 and 3/6. I started playing Empire after that, and even when it was Party Poker connected, it didn't seem all that different. What are the better sites now for 2/4 and 3/6? Stars? Party?

Thanks

I'm not saying the games aren't beatable at full tilt, but I am saying that you won't get punished as badly for making preflop errors of this type when you play at party, absolute, ultimate bet, pacific, empire, etc.

Full tilt poker is a rock garden. I hate their whole "learn from the pros" campaign. It makes the games too tight. Party is all about gamboooling. In short, Full tilt offers you free poker books and emails you instructional articles, partypoker offers you sidebets!

What Snowball is trying to say is that Full Tilt players will make less mistakes and won't pay off as often However they'll fold more often. Party on the other hand deatures loose players that make more mistakes and like to calldown a lot. They're two different games. Both are easily beatable but you'll earn more money off loose players in the long run.
