Default Absolute screwed-up

OK...somehow my Absolute got completely screwed when updating today. I cannot fix it. Whenever, I try to open it, it does not properly update, freezes, and cannot be stopped by task manager.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling only to have the same thing happen.

Is this happening for anyone else? Has it happened to anyone else? What fix do you recommend?

I had the same problem in the past. Do you have Spysweeper or similar software? Something about spysweeper prevents there updates from working properly.

To fix this I had to delete AP from the C drive (make sure to get your notes out of the data file first). When I say delete I mean go to c/program files/ Absolute poker and right click and delete the whole folder. If you use the "remove program" feature, it doesn't get everything and you keep having the same problem.

Next go to AP's site and reinstall.

The next time an update comes, turn off your spyware before you click "ok" to install. Then turn your spyware back on.

BTW, reboot somewhere in this process, don't know if it matters where.
