If this kind of thing becomes more commonplace and word gets out that it might not be safe to be involved, you can kiss the poker boom goodbye.

I doubt it. This and the Bellagio incident are the kinds of things that celebrities like actors and athletes have to deal with as well. Sucks.

Celebrities and athletes also have an infrastructure to fall back on (agents, bodyguards, drivers, etc-). Poker players aren't familiar with those types of details. Not to mention that trying to convince a middle aged housewife from the Midwest to come to Vegas with her husband will be tougher if she keeps hearing stories like this.

Anyone who does not have a daughter, and thinks what Greg did was wrong/inappropriate, needs to FOAD. You will never understand until/if you do have a daughter. Until then, shut up.

That is all.

Don't blame you at all for what you said...Your recognition and money make you a target for all kind of low-lifes.

I am extremely protective of my family and I don't have the same cash or stardom. I would have probably jumped the rail and beat the [censored] out of the guy to be honest with you.
NO ONE THREATENS MY FAMILY...threaten me all you want...but don't dare bring my family into it..but hey maybe me and my Irish temper are a little overprotective...naaaahh!

I don't blame you a bit...and hopefully you won't have to deal with jerks like that for the remainder of the ME.

Hi Greg,

This guy *deserves* a truly severe beating for doing that.

Anyway, more practically speaking, perhaps the security video and casino security (and perhaps the LVPD and/or a private security service) can be used to identify him, and you can get a restraining order against him. Just maybe too you could *file* charges based on the fact that his conduct was entirely inappropriate and implied a threat (if he beats the charges, it still probably costs him money for a lawyer, and puts him on notice).

Also, if you haven't already done so, you might consider getting licenses to carry a firearm in any states you plan to be visiting or traveling in (Ray can advise on what is the best concealed-carry gun;-)). You might also look into having your wife learn to shoot, and perhaps concealed carry permit also, etc.

Anyway, you've probably already thought of all these things: I guess these are just things I would be likely to do if I were ever to be faced with a situation like this.

It is really too bad that there are so many nasty people in the world.

I think you handled it well.

Best wishes for the rest of the tournament.

Kick his ass while calling security. In my case I would probably have to pull my wife off the guy. My baby girl just turned 19 and I would do the same in a heart-beat.

Get dialed in on your game and go win.

Best of Luck

Props to greg for no 10-minute penalty.

I definatly would have threatened to "f-bomb"ing kill him if he even looked at my family.
