Default tricky tricky

10/20 with sfer. neither of us are really in line (unless you call him taking down a nice pot after cold calling with 52o then raising the turn with a pair of twos for a free showdown or me 3-betting him on the turn with AK unimproved staying in line), but at this point I think the two of us were more or less playing "well" so we don't have 72 or 84. anyway...

I'm in the SB, he's in the BB. a pretty loose-passive guy (sfer had just sat down so I don't think he has a read on this guy) open raises from LP, I 3-bet from the SB, sfer calls, he calls

Flop: T85

I bet, sfer calls, LP calls

Turn: 3

checked around

River: 2

I check, sfer bets, LP folds, I raise, sfer 3-bets, I call

anyone want to take a guess what we had?

This is maybe too simplistic, but it looks like you guys both have pocket pairs. I don't think you look up sfer's river 3-bet with AK, but it's a small possibility that you do. It's also possible that you 3-bet ATs given that LP is loose. In which case sfer has a higher pocket pair, most likely JJ-KK.

Also, there is an outside chance sfer has TT and was going for the turn c/r or a slowplay. But I don't think he'd do this as he misses too many bets when it gets checked behind as it did.

I'm saying:

You: AT (or JJ)
sfer: JJ-KK

any good?

You have AT, probably suited, he has 88... would this be close?

sfer: A4s

I considered this, but I think there is no way he calls a 3-bet with A4s OOP. Not enough players to make the flush draw profitable, and an excellent, excellent chance he is dominated.

Yeah, maybe. I have no idea if that's something he does or not sometimes. I just know he's a good player, so I figured he wouldn't.
