You don't have a one card straight, you have a nine in your hand. This means you win against other fives. So you should cap the turn. I'm not sure if your question is if you should call or raise the first turn bet, I hope not.

Raise turn. Cap turn. Bet river, or checkraise river. Don't check call river.

If that even means anything at this level, your opponent has a 5 and feels very good about tricking the entire field and getting to 3-bet with his monster. I think you should avoid shorthanded tables and stick to full games, as your weak tight play hurts more and more the shorter the table becomes.

Definately stick to 10-handed games until you alter your playing style. Good luck.

Or, consciously work to increase your aggression. Play a 1-table session and either raise or fold everything...just to get used to it. Hopefully you wont fold so much. :P

this is a very easy turn cap... and do your best to get a raise in on the river, too.

Yes, altering your playing style definately means (among other things) increasing his aggression in this case.
