The right bet is Bama -1.5 in the first half.

Tennessee is averaging 3.5 points in the first half on the road (8 overall)
Alabama is averaging 14 points in the first half at home (about the same overall)

Alabama's Defense is only allowing around 8pts/1stHalf thus far

Lots of rivalry/bad blood in this one.

I think Alabama's the right pick but I wouldn't touch it :/

Both teams strength is on the defensive side of the ball so I don't expect too many points from either of them. That alone makes me look hard at +3.5.

Alabama was impressive against Florida two weeks ago but the Gators are the only decent team they have faced so far. Vols have faced much tougher competition. In addition, Tide's best receiver Prothro is out.

Looking ahead, the Tide's next two games are against Utah St. & Miss. St before they get LSU at home and then finish against an Auburn team that's nothing special this year. So if they win this one they stand a fair chance of going 11-0. I just can't see that happening. I'm taking Tennessee. Small wager though.
