Default Yet another \"I love my new monitor\" thread

Got my Samsung SyncMaster 213T today - oh my gaaaaaaaaaawd. Multitabling is so sweet now - I was actually 4-tabling on a 15" screen for a while. The only problem is now I can see so much, I have information overload! Heh. I'm sure I'll get used to it - beats the old tiny screen. 21.3 inches of heaven. . .

While we're on the subject, I like my Viewsonic VP201b better than the Dell (which I have used at work).

Three thumbs up!

Can you get any of these (Viewsonic or Samsung) for free?. They do look better than the Dell 2001FP.

I like the thinner bezel, which is dark black (instead of the dell dark gray), and the available multiple panel mounts ( see here). I've got the dual side by side, but I certainly wouldn't mind getting one of the quad's at some point.

I've also found the image quality to be a slight bit better on the Viewsonic. The Dell has more "TV" support, in that it accepts s-video and composite directly, but I have no use for that. If you do, then that might make it a better choice for you. Since I needed them for work related things (online poker usage is just a bonus), the slightly higher cost was worth it for what I felt was a better quality product.

As a slight bias, I have had to work with Dell before and seen first hand how much they like to cut things to the bone to make more money (of course what company doesn't - they're just extra aggressive), so in general I would not buy something from Dell if all other things are equal.

I got my 2001fp in today, and I second the previous post. Also, how much did you all pay for the 213T and the viewsonic. I researched both these monitors, but for $540 shipped, the 2001fp is UNBEATABLE!!!

IIRC I paid about $710 or so for each of the viewsonics. The Dell is usually less expensive, but since I liked the Viewsonic better I felt it was worth the premium.
