Default Pre-flop, 77 in BB with small stack

My logic was that I had a modest chance of winning, and as I was going to pay a max of 2BB to see the showdown I might as well put it in pre-flop when he can't get away.

Stop playing Limit Hold-em with a short stack.

Personally I wouldn't let my stack get that low.

I try to keep at least 10BB's in my stack at all times.

You have about a coinflip chance of winning if he's got overcards. You have between an 18 and 19% chance of winning if not. Since he could have either, you have maybe a 35% (wild-guesstimate between 50% and the 20%) chance of coming out ahead, and you put in 50% of the money.

So don't do this unless you have at least one other caller.
