THIS is my advantege over most of the people I play against who just like to play it

[/ QUOTE ]

By this I mean that I think I have an advantage over those players who don't study the game but just show up on poker night...not an advantage over players who just play but study too

" Do you guys actually play poker"

No, I live in a fantasy world where I imagine that I play poker.

"Have you ever heard, or have any knowledge that a "Pro" has ever said, "I wont play in this Tourney because the Chips Suck." Have Ya? "

I don't know- the first time I see a pro play in a game with Bicycle chips and paper cards, I'll let you know.

"The "Guys" that play in your home games are there because you have "Pretty Poker Chips and Kem Cards?" or are they there to Play Poker, kick ass and take your money!? "

Try playing with a deck of Kems or Copags and see how you feel about cheap cards after that. Play in a game with better chips and see how you feel about the thin plastic poker chips after that.

Yes, it makes a difference to the players, especially new ones to a group.

You don't want people to realize that they are playing with their rent money. I can understand playing with cheap chips, but never cash.

We just had a topic about this: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...t=all&vc=1

That's right "wulf." I forgot about that post. I did respond to that one.

Ten gave (IMHO) a very "Passionate" reason for designing and buying "His" Pharoah Chips. Like I said.."He Da Man."

I think it's thoroughly reasonable.

As I keep mentioning, a very large part of why I play poker is to get to play with casino quality poker chips. Unlike BJ or craps, I can make a stack last longer with poker, so I get to play with the chips more.

Really. I can't describe it in any better terms. It's sort of an obsessive thing with me.

Then, I learned I could buy Paulsons for myself. Nice.

I have 3000 Paulsons, mostly fantasy chips, and have used them in an actual poker game once. Doesn't matter to me. I just like fiddling with the chips when I'm home alone.

I also like my collection of single malt scotches, as well as a few other quirky collections.

I have absolutely no need for those chips. None whatsoever. But, I do understand that I want those chips, which is the sole reason why I get them. If it were anything important vs. chips, I'd give up the chips for what I need.

I think it's often overlooked that Kems, Copags, and other cards like them are cheaper than the $2 decks.

True. Over time. Unless you use the same paper deck night after night, even when it's sticky, dog eared, and furry edged, then it's cheaper to use KEM's.
