Default Is not raising top set wrong in this spot?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB completes, 1 fold.

Flop: (5 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, UTG goes all-in for $2, Hero calls, MP2 calls, SB calls.

Figured it might be worth the risk to keep MP2 and SB around if they wanted to come. I 'woke up' on the turn of course...

Raise preflop. Given that you didn't, not raising the flop is probably going to make you more money from the hand.

Tough without reads, but in general I don't think there's anything wrong with it. People will call with almost anything for one bet drawing dead. They might have an OESD or a gutshot or middle pair that they'd call two cold with anyway, but again we have no reads. If one of them does raise the flop, though, I'd just as soon 3-bet right then when it comes back to me.

Yeah I think the only real mistake you made in this hand was not raising preflop. 90% of the time, if there is one limper in front of me, I'll raise 99 preflop.

Raise preflop like most of said.

Now with the slow play. Here I think is a perfect time to slow play. The board is not draw heavy and are praying for someone to connect with their overcard on the turn.

With that said, I'm raising this about 99% of the time if there is two to the flush on the board or if the board is more connected like 9 10 Q or 9 J Q. You need to fast play your set here and appropriately "charge the draw" as the term is used.

What happened with the BB? Seems like an expert laydown.

I think the poor implied odds when raising everyone out exept the all-in guy plus that the pot is so small makes it a call. If the pot were a few bets bigger you would want to raise.

I think that your flat call is correct here. You should be way ahead in this hand and don't want to chase players out unless the turn card is scary

I normally hate slowplaying, but this does seem like a great spot to do it.

Good idea to slowplay here... I would check/raise the turn and bet the river. Provided there is not a scare card that comes out then just bet the turn.
Also I would have raised preflop.

How close is the pfr? I tend not to raise 99 from EP, big leak? How come?

To the OP: Slowplay for overcalls looks fine on this flop (practically zero draws), I agree with a 3-bet if it gets raised behind you to tie people to the pot.
