Yep, questionable. Actually it sucks. If want to put all your money in at least check and give a worse hand a chance to bluff.

Huh? This is a $45 bet into a $85 pot. Checking the river would be bad.

NH OP.

Bah you are right AJ with those stacks left this is not as bad as I thought. I though villian had 60 left. If 60 left I check to the 1 liner, but with 45 he might call with AK.

interesting that you don't like it... the line seems best to me. villain raises PF and calls 2 near PSB along the way. given that, i think its easy to put him on AQ/AK.

i don't see whats so bad about a push even if villain did have more than $45 left... thoughts?

He raised preflop don't worry he is unlikely to have a nine! Played fine, he probably has a random ace, may or may not have paired his kicker, hope he called the river.

Well guys this is what I think.
A pre flop raise from the button means not much anymore. He could have a variety of hands without a read, including a 9. It could also mean AA 10-10 or whatever.

But... IMO AK should fold to a 60$ bet on the river. Between the 1 liner to the strait and the bet sizes it is pretty clear AK is no good. Which leads me to ask what hands are gonna call a 60$ bet on the river that you can beat?

I think making a value bet that AK can still call is ok, I also think checking and leting the other guy bluff or whatever is ok, but with 60$ left if you move in the only hand that should call you is one that beats you. If you cant get away from AK in this spot you are a poor player IMO. Really the only hand that can justify calling that bet on the river that the OP beats is A-10. With 45 left though and the pot size a number of hands might call. These flat calls are kind of scary as well. AK-Q-10 re-raises flop? I can only speak for myself but when I flat call a flop, turn, like that means either I am drawing or have a monster.
