Default Aggressively playing the button: when big stacks collide

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG ($37.35)
MP1 ($15.16)
MP2 ($23.30)
CO ($24.10)
Hero ($43.15)
SB ($4.60)
BB ($40.95)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
1 fold, MP1 calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero raises to $25, 1 fold, BB calls $24.75, MP1 folds.

Flop: ($50.35) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($50.35) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($50.35) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB calls $15.95 (All-In), Hero calls $15.95.

Final Pot: $82.25

Thoughts?

My notes say MP1 occasioanlly likes to limp in and will fold to a sizable raise. BB is a little loose and likes defending his blinds.

lol id def say 100 BBs is a sizeable raise ...gj making MP fold, he probably wouldve sucked out on you with some lower pocket pair or 67s ....

Maybe you should bet $1.98 on the flop to find out where you're at

I really don't see why you're raising so much. You will be called by a better hand almost all the time, and commit yourself to seeing a showdown regardless of what comes.

When you run you preflop overbet into AA or KK a few times you will get stacked.

Don't do it.

I'm assuming I'm missing something and this is a joke. Raising 100bb on the button is terrible, terrible play, for obvious reasons. The fact that you supplied reads suggest its not a joke. In that case your idea is fine but raise to 5/6bb.

Why the extreme raises?

Unless you're dealing with idiots (this is DEF a possibility), the only time you'll get callers is when you're beat.
