Overpair on paired board....
Presuming you raise pf to 4-5BB with a big pair and get called by an early/mid limper. Flop is something like 355 or 66T rainbow, or maybe even 2suited. You make a 3/4 pot bet and get c/r about the minimum. You both started with ~100BBs.
Presuming typical villain with something like 50/10/2, whats your line? |

Re: Overpair on paired board....
check behind the flopppppppp
you will get called on your value bets on turn/river by almost ANY pocket pair after that plus you lose less if he does have trips |

Re: Overpair on paired board....
Seems like conflicting opinions...?
I'm sure there's never one easy choice, especially given this situation, so I was wondering what people had success with. Another option is to 3bet and fold to a raise. Check the turn and make/call a small river bet. |

I guess this is a pot control vs. hand protection consideration. Against an opponent who is able to C/R with air, I think a check behind is in place. Against a passive player, bet about 3/4 pot. |

Re: Overpair on paired board....
Check behind sounds good, but as previous poster said, what do you do if an A or K falls while you're holding JJ/QQ?

Re: Overpair on paired board....
Against the typical villian, I bet the flop and fold to a check raise. It seems that most of the time that I call down the check raise I get shown trips at the end.

Re: Overpair on paired board....
Check behind the flop. WA/WB, you don't want to bloat the pot early- try to get a cheap showdown.
