I think this is a grey area and an interesting question. I'd like to hear what some of the experienced floormen on this board would do in this situation (ignoring the fact that its an off-duty dealer, since that shouldn't matter).

What if we knew that the third player was signaling the lag dealer that he had a really strong hand? Is this collusion, even if the lag dealer doesn't get any money for his efforts?

In general, can it be collusion even if the colluding parties don't share in the profits in any way?

Your example is a classic rendition of collusion.

The flop bet by villain2 is all the signal pissed off villian1 needs to c/r flop and again on turn. Even if villian2 isn't 'connected' to pissed off villian1 the action is easy to pick up and benefit from.

So why was pissed at the world LAG mad at you OP, specifically? Had he pulled this trick before and/or recently lost a big pot to you?

You should have immediately called for the floor, and explained to him or her what the dealer had just said, and asked the floor to watch the hand and to request both hands be shown at the end.

I think you should be more concerned with learning how to play winning poker. Then you would welcome such action from this dealer.

[ QUOTE ]

The dealer played a hand specifically in a manner to make me lose money in the hand and told me that was his intention.

[/ QUOTE ]

Telling you was not the problem. Telling the other aggressor in the hand was. Call the floor.
