Default $1+.20

Is beating the $1+.20 tournaments possible in the long run? I think not because of the 45-person fields and the 20% rake, but someone just told me to post it here. So there.

(not like the $1.20s even matter, but whatever, i'm bored)

how? i know that many of the people who play them are terrible, but isn't a 20% rake kind of incredible?

ROI for SnG's on Party are good if they're 20%... and that's after 10% rake.

for 45 person SnG's the ROI would be much higher, probably close to 100%... so the extra 10% rake wont turn it to a losing proposition

Ok, guess I admit defeat : )
I thought for sure that a 20% rake was unbeatable but I don't play nearly enough tourneys to know the math on it. Good to know.

I think the field would be so bad in this tournament the 20% rake could be easily overcome.

Wondering the same thing, I played about 15 of these. I can't remember the exact numbers, but remember near rhe end I had an $86 return on my money. The players are a mix of horrible and decent but reckless. I still jump in one now and then to blow off steam, but it wasn't worth too much time. Kinda funny to be playing a $100 NL ring game on Party and one of these on Stars at the same time.

To summarize, my sample size is tiny, but I think they are infinitely beatable.

I'm glad I found this thread. I'll admit that I got curious last week and played 10 of these things to see if they were beatable. I finished Top 7 in 7 of the 10 tournaments. So yea... they're beatable.

Great confidence boosters too. The players in there are so bad that they're nice to use as a little pick-me-up when you're feeling like a donkey after a real tournament.

I'm a micro limit player on PokerStars and I play a lot of these. So far I have played 65 and finished ITM 20% of the time.
I don't think these are great stats but I am winning money.
I only have 2 wins & 2 seconds, so know I have to improve.

These tourneys are, in a word, INSANE. I've gone all in on a board of JQTKA (Max. 2 of one suit), and the two players behind me actually folded.

Most dont understand pot odds or FE, so you will see many folks with less than 1 BB in their stack, and lots of T30 bets into a T1000 chip pot...

(I've played around 200 of them, trying to build up my bankroll.)
