He had 77 for bottom set.

I don't think I'm in that good of shape against this guy's range though. I really don't think he could have AA or KK and I'm not sure he plays AQ that way and surely not KQ.

His most likely hands is a strong draw and once in a while he'll show up with a set. I couldn't get my pokerstove to do what I wanted, but if I put in what I think his range is I think calling would be slightly +EV.

in my experience a tight player doesnt play AQ/KQ like that, like ever.

so i expect a big draw most of the time and sometimes a set.

would be a tough fold to make in the heat of the battle though for sure.

People calling with AA: wtf? I would call with 78 but not AA because with 78, 777 and 888 are a much smaller part of his handrange. Also, with aces, AQ becomes more unlikely.

This was my thought as well regarding AA (777/888 become so much more likely). I was just curious if any of the overwhelming support for a call was based on the very small likelihood of 777/888/QQQ being out.

Diablo,
My other point remains valid. If villain does not play AQ this way, why do you call with AA?

i think 777,888 very unlikely and would expect a combo heart/straight draw of some sort...i still call given image...
