Drinking one of those is like eating a meal.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I sometimes have a Strawberry C-Moster or a Superfood for breakfast.

Does it make a difference that it's natural sugar instead of refined?

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny you ask that: I was contemplating going and getting a candy bar, then remembering I had an apple. I was just thinking...this has just as much sugar ...

Did some research and fruit sugar is mostly fructose while refined sugars are mostly sucrose. Fructose apparently breaks down more slowly than sucrose resulting in fewer calories.

i have heard that even drinking large amounts of orange juice is almost as bad as coke. it's sugar baby

[/ QUOTE ]

might have heard that it's almost as bad for your teeth. that's because it's acidic tho, not b/c of the sugar.

or you could have heard something completely different.

and you would have heard right

obvoiusly there's a difference between refined sugar and the sugar found in fruit - but in terms of general health and calories they are the same

eating an orange is WAY better for you than drinking orange juice

Well, moderation in all things, but a glass of orange juice will almost always be better than a class of coke.

[/ QUOTE ]

but not REALLY. that's what i'm saying. a lot of it is just in your head. you like to think orange juice = good, coke = bad. if you're talking about losing weight, it's all calories.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, really. If you're talking about losing weight, everything nutritive = calories.

EDIT: I also wanted to say something regarding the fact that sugar in fruit is A) more complex and B) fruit contains vitamins and often fiber. But now I've ruined the succinctness of my un-edited post.

I have an Odwalla juice with lunch pretty much every day. It's more like a sidedish than a drink. But it's also a drink. This is very convenient.
