Default Bad Beat Jackpot Hit at Mountain High in CO

Howdy all,

Just thought I'd write a little report about my very interesting Friday night.

I play 2/5 spread limit at The Mountain High casino in Blackhawk, CO. Last night I took home the 40% "beatee" share of the bad beat jackpot... The jackpot was approximately $37,000. The qualifier is Aces full of Jacks beaten.

Table has been tighter than a normal Friday night, but its getting close to midnight and its starting to get LAGGY.

I'm in the blind with AQo. UTG raises to 7. CO+2 cold calls (reasonable player), and I call $5 more in the SB.

Flop comes Ah As Js

I check, UTG bets, CO+2 calls, I call.

Turn comes Kd (CO+2 eyes bug out...)

I check, UTG checks, CO+2 bets, I check raise, UTG cold calls, CO+2 three bets, I call, UTG calls.

River comes the beautiful glorious Qd.

I bet, UTG folds, CO+2 raises, we both trade re-raises until capped. By this time I'm blabbering gibberish.

I table my Aces full of Queens, CO+2 takes a second for dramatic effect, and tables his AKo for Aces full of Kings.

The whole table absolutely went nuts, we hooted and hollered for a good 15 minutes, eventually the casino manager came down and told us basically to shut up.

Final tally, the player's share of the jackpot was approximately $1400 a person, the winner of the pot with Aces full of Kings got approx. $10,500, and I walked away with $14,764 (minus a $300 tip to the delicious dealer...)

This was the second bad beat I've been a part of at Mountain High. About 10 months ago I got a players share of a beat where quad 10s took down quad 4s. That beat was dealt by the same dealer who dished up the goods last night...

What are the chances of being involved in two bad beat jackpots in a year?

So needless to say, THAT RULED.

later!
-K$

Congratulations, I would think the odds are pretty slim.

The most I've seen/heard a player being involved in a year, having any share when it hits, was 6 last year by a gal in my room.
