Default Calling allins and big flop bets with only Over pairs

2 times tonight I saw over pairs get busted by big flop bets that were called.Once was my own idiocy second was another player at the table.

First hand was 1/2 PLO on stars.

AAJ8 ds was potted up to 30.00 PF following a few limpers and a min raise happy big stack.

3 callers, 1 allin:

Flop J 6 7 rainbow

SB bets out allin for 123. Big stack calls. Hero has 240 behind. Action??

What range should I put the allin push from the SB, what range for the aggressive big stack he has 650 behind after the flop call?

Second hand:

BB (Not me) with KK24 ds. With 170 behind.

Aggressive Bigstack (same as above) pots it typical for him. Family pot with 6 callers. BB just calls.

Flop comes J 4 3 rainbow, BB checks his over pair K's. Big stack bets out small, Button pots it.

Is this a call? Again what range do you put the raiser on.

Obviously the BB called it lead out the turn and ended up getting allin only to get shown the winner but was his flop call correct?

Should he have played PF for a reraise? I think leading the flop is even a better play then you can let it go if you get resistance.

Thanks

one pair is rarely a winning hand by the river in omaha ... even if you're winning now you have a good chance of losing it by the river especially in a multiway pot

I agree with the responses given. The only other idea would be to reraise the agro with the hopes of getting lots of your stack in and isolating him. But then you get into a tricky situation again where he will only call you on the flop if you are beat.

I find that unless you know your oponents very well, it's best to treat big pair hands as drawing hands, where you are hoping to flop top set. Otherwise you find yourself in many difficult decisions, where you are either a little ahead or way behind.

The exception to this rule is when you are able to get 2/3rds or so of your stack in preflop, which rarely happens unless you make the mistake of not reloading a short stack.
