Default PARTY 50. 2NUT FLUSH RIVER PLAY.

party 50/100.
ive been in the game for 2 rounds... villain in this hand is a sold 2plus2er. we dont have a huge history, but weve played together in the 50 and 30 game several times.

villain raises UTG, fold to me and i call in the sb with KsKd, BB folds... gaming is playing pretty tught/straightforward.

flops: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
check,bet, i checkraise, threebet, i cap it.

turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
i bet, raise, i threebet, call.

river: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

whats the play?

Feasible hands look like AsKo, any AA, 99, and possible though maybe unlikely depending on how he plays QsQo. Theres 1 AsKo left, 6 AA (3 with As), 3 99, and 3 QsQo.

Without QQ that leaves 6 hands you beat and 4 you don't.
Looks like a bet call. I wouldn't fold to a raise here.

I raise out of the SB to ensure the BB drops (I know, too "basic"). Once you don't, I like the flop and turn but I'm checking the river. It's too likely he has a hand with the nut spade in it and I hate getting raised here. Plus if he has say, red aces or some kinda overpair sans spade, he may stab at the pot or not call if you bet. But the way he played it with all that splashing seems like a big spade with a pair. When he raises the turn, he either has a big pair with spade backup or a big pair w/o it and doesn't want to risk giving you a cheap look. With the spade, he raises the end...without it, he may bluff when you check since the pot is so big and may not call if you bet (particulary if he has something like JJ red).

also, game is playing tight/agro.

UTG raise no longer 100% means premium hand. he could have flopped a medium flush.

or a good one w/ QJs etc. or he has AK with the As and your about to put 2 bets in with the worst hand. wont stop me though. i bet call.

1 AsKo. 3 AsAo. 3 99. 3 AoAo.

6:4 hero's favour, which would mean it's a bet, which means we are 0ev if he'll raise the better hands, and checkcallling has negative ev.

i'm not convinced you can't fold to a raise. villians only bluff hands would be AoAo and 99 which aren't typical bluff raising hands since he'll prob just be happy to showdown 99. and by now villian should have put hero on a mid flush and would def not be expecting a fold.

if villain flopped a flush with a hand like QJs hell bet it for you on the river if you check anyway, so thats not a good arguement for value betting.
