Default BB hand w/ 5 callers

Hey guys, I am an occasional lurker here and general tournament newbie. I'd appreciate any feedback on this hand.

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to datsun240z [Ks Qs]
TheHighLife: calls 1200
Chip_Catcher: calls 1200
JayBlock: folds
playa2004: folds
candog33: calls 1200
jmudd0406: calls 1200
TOSS_EM_NOW: calls 600
datsun240z: raises 18975 to 20175 and is all-in

Basic setup is PS $2+0.20 tourney and we've reached the bottom end of the money. I've been tight passive for the past two rounds of blinds b/c i've been cold-decked and talking on the phone. The table usually has limpers and minimum raisers pre-flop.

I'm dealt KQs in the BB w/ 5 callers including the SB. I have ~T20000 (the avg stack is about ~T17000) and push all in into a T6600 pot. My thinking is that it's time to move to make the decent money and I was 99% sure no one had a hand that would dominate mine. How was this move?

Thanks

I dont really like the raise all in...if i'm going to raise...just make it like 5-7x BB to try and kick out some of the limpers...basically if someone limped in hopes of a reraise w/ AA-QQ, you're not looking good here (this happened to me tonight)...and anyone with a hand you will beat is more than likely throwing it away...i dont see anyone calling this that isnt ahead of you as you're behind any ace (which at 2.20's, ppl tend to call with these from my experiences)...at best you will be a slight underdog with a mid pp...i'd rather just raise and see what the flop brings...also does anyone just like checking here to see the flop?

this is like a third of chips

committing a third of your chips preflop and not pushing is pretty bad.

checking is ok, but i think pushing is better here. in fact i think if someone flipped up 99 and said they were going to call if you pushed, it would still be profitable.

Just wondering...in general...what is the highest fraction of your chips that you would put in preflop without pushing?

my general rule of thumb, which i either stole from this forum or some book, was that if my preflop raise equaled 25% or more of my chips, i should just be sticking my whole stack in there.

for instance, in an 800 chip SNG, if someone openraises to t100, and I have QQ, i'm not going to raise to 300, i'm just going to push.

or, late in an MTT, if the blinds are 2000/4000, and i have 36000 and it folds to me in the CO with T9s, i'm sticking all my chips in.

or in a situation like this, which we lovingly refer to as "pwning."
