I think im too passive heads up
2 hands
Hand 1: Button bets when checked to and calls too much. 5/10 (heads up) Preflop: I get delt 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB. Button limps, I check. Flop: (2sb)T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet, Button calls. Turn: (2BB) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, Button bets, I call. River: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, Button bets, I call. I didn't do this because I was scared of the nine or 54, but more that I knew he would bet if I checked to him and I didnt want to be raised because I wouldnt fold 2 pair. I think im dumb. Hand 2: BB is very aggressive and tricky. 5/10 (heads up) Preflop: I get delt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the Button. I raise, BB calls. Flop: (4sb) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, BB raises, I call. Turn: (4BB) 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB bets... Call down or raise/fold? Should I 3-bet the flop?

As long as villain is sure to bet, this line is fine. He is very likely on a bluff, in which cas he will probably fild if you show strength. You might raise the river if no overs or draws hit.

if the button always bets when checked to then i'm inclined to check raise the first hand because i think i'm in front and that gets more money in
i would normally 3 bet the flop on the first hand as i'm keen for a showdown and i want to charge the possible drawing hands the max - i probably wouldnt 3 bet if i thought the BB would cap without at least top pair or he had demonstrated a liking for the stop and go - i think the problem you actually faced on the turn in the second hand was obvious when you decided to just call the flop so you needed a plan before then stripsqueez - chickenhawk
