Default [censored] bios

on my old box you enter bios during startup and you have all these options like changing system time and boot priorites.

on my new laptop you hit the old f4 and it goes to this weird screen talking about bios roms and installing new/updating the bios roms and it lets me select what drive to update from, even though i have no idea about what its talking about i can only select drive a:/ even though i dont have a drive a:/

how to i make my computer boot from cd.
(its an ASUS notebook)

Its an ASUS MB, but what kind of BIOS?

If you have difficulty accessing the BIOS Setup (CMOS)try these keystrokes:

* AMI BIOS: Del key during the POST
* DTK BIOS: Esc key during the POST
* Award BIOS: Ctrl-Alt-Esc
* misc BIOS: Ctrl-Esc
* Phoenix BIOS: Ctrl-Alt-Esc or Ctrl-Alt-S
* IBM PS/2 BIOS: Ctrl-Alt-Ins after Ctrl-Alt-Del
