They picked a bad weekend. The protest won't get much coverage with Hurrican Rita stealing the show.

There's no military draft, so not much protest activity.

I think the DC protest had around 500,000 people, and several other protests popped up nationwide, including some that had around a couple hundred thousand in participants. I was going to take a train from Idaho to DC to go, but lo and behold, there was a fishy poker tournament that I couldn't miss.

I think this country has forgotten that we're at war right now because or the damned news only worrying about the hurricanes.

No, not even close. maybe 10k. There was a lot of other stuff going on at the mall and downtown this weekend. It looked to me like there were more people at the bookfair than at the war protest.

I live in DC, near the mall and I agree with this statement but I have no #'s to back that up just my perception.

Also, it was funny to see some protesters drinking at the upscale Old Ebitt Grill which is kind of an 'establishment' place frequented by congressional and administration big shots.
