Default What\'s the difference between a fish

and a gambler?

Is there a difference in your mind? And how does your strategy change depending on which you think your opponent is?

there's a huge difference between someone who is a LAG (loose aggressive)and some one who is willing to gamble. The most common LAG thinks that there's a connection between his ego and his willingness to "gamble" or play every hand. "You're not a real man if you fold etc etc."

Both players probably know they are beat before the river - however:

I think the difference is that a fish is hoping beyond all hope he'll be saved and then thinks he made a great play when he catches his 5 outer and pumps himself up that way.

A gambler just doesn't care, but laughs his head off when he does suck out and says something dumb to annoy everyone.

In my opinion, some of the biggest fish are not gamblers. These are the weak tight players who think they know how to play poker and just can't understand why some 'over-aggressive lucky' kid beats them all the time.
