Default 4 Handed- $25 Hot NLHE Action!

Well its not really hot, but hey its action!
4 Handed I'm on the SB with $25 and the BB has $25 as well.
Blinds .40 cents/.80 cents

It's folded to me, and I look at Ac-10d. I raise it up $2, in mostly an effort to steal the tight, but sometimes strangely aggressive BB who I’ve been stealing the blinds from all night, but I also think I have the best hand at that point. He just calls, *ring* *ring* those alarm bells start chiming in again. At this point I’m putting him on a high ace or pocket pair above 6. Maybe two paints.

Flop comes: Kc Qd 9c

I check to the caller and he bets $1 pretty quickly. I just call, thinking if he checks at the turn I’m going to set him all-in at the river. I should have bet here I think.

Turn: 8d

I check again and he goes all-in. Oops. I go in the tank. My read on him tells me he is not very strong, but I don't think my Ace high would be good even if he was. I fold and say, "SHOW ME YOUR BLUFF!"

He shows me Ad-10c. GRR!

How should I have played this hand?

You're right, a raise ($4-5) on the flop would have gotten you some information and maybe a fold.

Sounds good to me, just fold and then next time he tries to set you all in, snap him off with the goods. If you thought he was weak you should have raised the flop for 4 reasons

1) You can steal the pot right there
2) If you are called you probably have at least 7 outs
3) You might be able to bluff him if a scare card comes on the turn.
4) You may be able to take a card off and hit your draw if you so choose.

Not to bring a post back from a while back but people might like this play.

'I check to the caller and he bets $1 pretty quickly. I just call, thinking if he checks at the turn I’m going to set him all-in at the river. I should have bet here I think.'

Well firstly, don't go all in for a small pot and on a board like that.

If you are set on bluffing the turn out of position you might like this play.

After you have raised preflop got called by someone with better position than you and want to bluff, even more so when the board comes like that, checkraise pot sized on the flop, it's the only advantage of your position. Checkraising speaks louder than your betting amount too. He'll put you on KQ AK or an oddly played KK QQ AA. Either way the only hand he is calling with - after the way he played it - is AK so chances are you are taking it down.
