Default Micro 6 max: A8o

I'm new to 6 max. Comments on all streets are appreciated. My plan was to check raise the flop if the button folded and then lead the turn.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, Button calls, Hero completes, BB raises, Button calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Button calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Button calls, Hero calls.

River: (7.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Button calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB

Just usual 6 max .50/1.00 fare. Neither of these 2 had done anything out of line.

6 max really feels like a different beast to me than full ring, and I'm finding that I really suck at shorthanded play. I don't know if this hand is painfully standard or horribly played, so any advice would be helpful.

well if button folds the flop and you're heads up, you should just check call the turn and lead the river. he didn't though, and he seems like a true donk by his button open limp. there are a lot of ways to play this hand, but against a guy like button and a normal guy in the BB, i like to check raise the flop, lead turn and river and don't be too surprised if BB has a better hand or if he calls down with a pocket pair.

if he 3-bets the flop then we can make a decision on the turn.
