Re: Wait for the turn?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If the game is loose/passive enough, I seen no problem with limping there. [/ QUOTE ] Loose passive = limp but I'd prefer more opponents. Tight passive = easy raise [/ QUOTE ] 2 limpers + the blinds in LP isn't good enough for you? never-the-less, I meant how loose the limpers were. in a tight game, with 2 limpers, this is an easy raise? Re: Wait for the turn?
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the responses everyone. In what situations do you like to wait until the turn? [/ QUOTE ] I'm basically only waiting for the turn if a)I have a very good reason to think that the flop bettor will continue to bet on the turn and b)there are weak draws like gutshots which will be made to call incorrectly if I wait until the turn but can call correctly on the flop (and most likely again correctly one on BB on the turn). In other words, I'm almost always raising the flop because people are too crazy with betting the flop that it is hardly ever reliable that they will be the turn again. They usually have crap or are just too passive even when they have a hand that SHOULD bet the turn. |

Re: Wait for the turn?
There are not two limpers.
There is an MP poster who checks and an MP3 player who, given that the poster just checks, limps in a steal position! That usually means a speculative hand like 89s or a low pocket for set value. And with a tight game I mean weak tight, where people fold on the flop or turn against aggression with marginal hands. Sometimes games are tight preflop where people only limp or raise with premium hands but stick to the end with them. In a tight game with two limpers, this is a clear fold. |
