Christ. Green with 14. I can't even imagine the outlandish predictions I'm going to making for him during the next year or so.

The real story of the Summer League, being a Celts fan, is Justin Reed. He shut down everyone he guarded against the Clippers, including Shaun Livingston, and he turned in a solid performance against a NBA experienced Mavs team.

Not to mention this was in the Globe today (in an interview with Perkins, Jefferson and Green):

[ QUOTE ]
Perkins: If he can handle Justin Reed on defense, then he can handle Paul [Pierce] on defense because Justin is way better than Paul. Justin will lock Paul up in practice. If you can take Justin and Tony's defense, then you ain't going to have no problem with Paul.

Jefferson: Or nobody else in the league.

Perkins: Justin is the only person I saw lock up Kobe [Bryant].

Jefferson: Just lock him up.

[/ QUOTE ]

He also played 19 minutes in that game and had 5 turnovers, 6 PFs, 1 rebound and no assists. He has a very long way to go, but he could be good if he can reign it in.

Haha I loved that article. It sounds like Reed is the real deal. My dad was in love with him last season and whenever I talked to him on the phone would go "just look out for Reed and Perkins, they're very overlooked."
