VGA port conversion to DVI question
I received my 2nd 2001FP yesterday. My PC's video card has a DVI and a VGA port. I had the first monitor hooked up through the VGA. I hooked the second monitor through the DVI Port. The DVI monitor is noticeably clearer (especially when looking at text) when sitting side by side with the VGA monitor. So, now I want to hook both monitors up via DVI.
If I buy a VGA/DVI adapter for my computer's VGA port, will I get a DVI quality picture on that monitor? Or will it still be VGA quality and the only purpose the adapter serves to to make the connection? Thanks for your input. |

Re: VGA port conversion to DVI question
Hopefully you'll get answer from someone who really knows, but I'm fairly certain that a monitor connected with a VGA>DVI adapter will not match the image quality of an identical monitor with a straight DVI connection.
An adapter is cheaper than another card, so you may want to get one and try it out before buying a new card. |

That's what I figured. Thanks for the response.
