in 10/20 6 max it was worth about ~$.10/hand, which comes out to .5BB/100. pretty large.

You guys are overreacting. Party has added new features you can use to make extra money to make up for not having rakeback.

[/ QUOTE ]

thanks D, that plus dealing tips were a huge boost to my morale.

I'm gonna go get really wasted on the strip now and reassess my life.

bug, you seem to be a solid player. Maybe you will make a little less now, whatever. This is only a huge issue imo for medicore and poor multi-tabler monkeys.

A more serious point to consider: what may very easily be going on right now.

It may not be the end of the world, but I really don't understand your cavalier attitude either. Are you saying losing tens of thousands of dollars per year in rakeback doesn't matter to "solid" players? If so, this is BS. Yeah, it may only be 10% or 5% of one's annual income, but it's still a solid chunk of cash that I'd much rather have than have to give up.

Anybody want to do 15k Empire for Party?

I guess I'm gonna have to get a local phone number this week so I can finally set up netteller.

Of course you'd rather have it. I did not say players weren't affected or that it wasn't bad for solid players. Just that it wasn't a HUGE issue as has been made of it.Look at the threads. All over the place. "OMGF, INTERNET POKER IS OVER" "OMFG, WORST DAY EVER" "POKER IS DEAD" "LIFE AS WE KNOW IT IS OVER" etc.

As I've said already, this level of reaction is only appropriate for a certain group of players.

Looking at the threads today, I would have thought a bill making it illegal to play poker online in the US was passed and all major ISPs were blocking access to poker sites or something.

I wonder if some of the sub-1 bb/100 players who now no longer get rakeback will now be unable to deal with the swings and stop playing. this should have the effect of making the games better. it will hurt more good players than bad ones.

also a lot of the good short limit players might move to other sites to play bigger.

so overall I'd imagine the the quality of games will go up, which will combat the rakeback thing to an extent.

a decent multi-tabling 20 or 30 player should only lose 10-20% of his earn.

I think there is a correlation going on here that causes the same people who panic at this stuff to be the marginally winning poker players.

"Oh sh*t, the third [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] just hit the board. I better check-call the river with my set of As."
