its a small town in the middle of nowhere with just a couple of casinos. smoky. most people have fun as its a small town type of atmosphere. if you dont like the game there head over to wendover for better games.

Not a bad idea, thanks Ray.

Been forever since I've been down there even tho I'm close, and some things have changed. Room went non smoking, but the casino is extremely smoky. Games are usually good, but mostly low limit. They may get a small NL going now because of the poker boom. Or so I have heard. They used to get a very good 10-20 going sometimes, but that stopped. Maybe they got it revived, I don't know. Wendover took a lot of customers from the 10-20 game by treating them better. (I don't mean to knock the poker room staff. They were always friendly. Sometimes the casino had some rules or policies that made it harder for the poker room staff to compete. I don't know if these have changed, things may be better) Wendover is better for poker as Zee said. But Jackpot is OK and you can have fun there if you try. Mountain Home, ID. Makes me wish I didn't already have reservations in Jackpot. We'll have to check out Wendover next time. Sounds more fun.

Edit : About how far of a drive from Jackpot to Wendover? Yahoo Maps and Mapquest can't seem to agree on where the town is even located.

Okay, little help please.

Mapquest
Yahoo

Mapquest thinks Jackpot is right on the border of Nevada and Idaho. Yahoo thinks Jackpot is well within the state. Which of these is Jackpot?

You should go to the casino's websites and use the address there instead of just using the town.

Hi Paxosmotic:

I've been there. In fact, over the years I've stoped there twice on trips where I spent some time at Craters of the Moon National Monument. (For our other readers: Yes there is such a place in Southern Idaho.) I didn't play poker even they have had poker for a long time, but I do remember that their buffet was surprisingly good.

Best wishes,
Mason

Looks like I'm going to have to wait until next time to visit the world famous Craters of the Moon National Monument (even the name is boring.) Wendover looks so nice that we've rerouted our trip to the Rainbow. If you see a 23 year old with a week's worth of stubble at the 10/20, come say hey to Paxosmotic.

Ah, Air Force guy?

Jackpot to wells is about 65 miles or so. This is the worst part of the drive BTW, be careful in the winter. Wells to wendover is 60 miles of interstate. Sorry if I posted too late.
