Default Odds Question

If you are holding pocket pairs, what are the odds that you'll hit trips on the flop?

ok, you have AA. there are 50 cards left. flop is 3 cards. you have 2 chances in 50 to hit a A. 2 chances = 8%. 8 x 3 is 24%. i dont know if its right, but thats what i think.

ok im an idiot. the odds are 12%. 2 chances would be 4%, 3 chances would be 12%. so youre roughly 1 in 8 to flop a set.

Default Re: Odds Question

The odds of at least a set on the flop is about 7.3:1.

The odds of exactly a set on the flop is about 8.3:1.

Honestly, the math of this bores me. I had it about half typed up, and then decided that one can find this in many places including Mike Petriv's Hold'em's Odd(s) Book and King Yao's book.
